Wanderous Travel Tip No. 4: Use the MasterCard Global ATM Locator

by on April 12, 2008

With more than a million ATMs in over 210 countries, you’re never far from a MasterCard, Maestro or Cirrus ATM.

I’ve spent the last ten minutes searching for ATMs in random places, just because I can. It’s so cool.

To find a nearby ATM, just provide any of the following information:

  • An address (or just a city and state or zip code)
  • A three digit international airport code, e.g. LAX (or choose one from list of major world airports if you don’t know the code)
  • An attraction or landmark, e.g. Disneyland

You can also specify a search radius in miles or kilometers, and you can even filter results according to drive through, 24 hour, wheelchair accessible, surchage fee and/or deposit sharing categories.

It’s so easy and convenient and it gives you so much peace of mind. An accessible ATM means you don’t have to worry about being short on cash, especially in the case of an emergency.
