HongKong Express flies to Clark

by on February 26, 2008

A new budget airline’s flying into town, and it’s the HongKong Express. Not the most original name, but cheap fares are what we’re after here so we’ll let it slide. From ABS-CBN interactive:

CLARK FREEPORT – Hong Kong Express will commence its thrice-a-week flight to the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport (DMIA) here on March 5. Alexander Cauguiran, executive vice president of the Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC), said Hong Kong Express would conduct its open chartered flights to the DMIA in the next three months in a bid to attract Chinese tourists and bring in investments to this freeport in Pampanga. He said the flights will be every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Hong Kong Express will use a Boeing 737-800, with a capacity of 164 passengers, for its Clark-Hong Kong route. The aircraft leaves the former British colony at 11:15 a.m., arrives at Clark at 1:15 p.m. and departs for Hong Kong at 1:45 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. On Fridays, it will arrive here at 6:40 p.m. and leave for Hong Kong at 7:25 p.m.

What’s really interesting about this announcement is that Hong Kong express will soon have flights to Kathmandu, so the more adventurous among you might have a chance to go there on the cheap. No word on their rates yet, we’ll be sure to let you know once we get some more info.
