Aissa

Aissa is an erstwhile university instructor who is now involved in a number of NGO projects for educational reform, citizenship and democracy. She used to work for the government but was not important enough to be in on the corruption. She’s interested in politics, international affairs, history, travel and culture. She likes shopping, ancient civilizations, science fiction and fantasy, books, comics, cartoons and furry creatures. She has more shoes than she knows what to do with and about half a dozen hobbies that she no longer has time for. She loves to eat and it’s a wonder that she’s not 300 pounds. In her free time, she enjoys dating Ryan.
Ryan

Ryan is in the gaming industry. Aside from gaming, he contributes to World Vision and provides his artistic services for free to NGOs like Haribon in the hopes that this will put him in a better light when the day of judgement arrives. He’s interested in books, comics, movies, music, and wonders at the cosmic coincidences that separate the two names Osama and Obama. He spreads himself thin trying to make up for time lost in a haze of borderline illegal substances. At 200 pounds, he’s much closer to 300 than Aissa and fights a constant battle to keep his weight in that range. In his free time, he is dated by Aissa.

Excellent and helpful blog guys. It’s now one my cherished bookmarks!
I’m a former Manileño who had been blessed with the opportunity of enjoying the sights and sounds of the city during the dekada 70s and 80s.
I have been away for far too long. And tell you the truth,
I hated it when I left but now I miss it. It’s just like that song by the Hotdogs “Manila, Manila, I keep coming back to Manila……”.
Keep up with the good work and hit me up if you have plans of visiting Vancouver in the future.

Hi Ardel. I think every Filipino has a love/hate relationship with the motherland. While progress has been slow, it’s there, and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Thanks for bookmarking the site and we certainly will let you know if a wanderous Vancouver trip ever materializes!

One thing I could tell you is that I wouldn’t want to grow old here – it’s a cold and inhospitable place for seniors.
I’d elaborate on this someday.

Yes I’ve heard that too, that’s why there’s big business here in developing residential areas for retirees.
